This is a winter warmer that you’re going to want to get stuck into. Rich in healthy fats and unrefined carbohydrates, this is a perfect way to start your day.
Ingredients
- 1/2 to 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup plant milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 red apple
- 1/2 banana
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp cacao nibs (optional)
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 4 almonds (blanched or regular)
- 1 tbsp hemp seeds
- Handful of raspberries
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
Method:
- Cook your oats to your desired consistency (more water if you want a runnier texture, and more milk for a creamier vibe)
- Once cooked, add one teaspoon of cinnamon and mash your banana in for flavour
- For the apple, cut into squares and place in a frying pan with your coconut oil
- Sprinkle in 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon so all sides of the chopped apple are covered, and just allow to cook for 3-4 minutes
- Grate one of your almonds onto the raspberries (totally optional of course) but gives it a nice look!
- Add the rest of your toppings and you’re good to go!
Oatmeal is typically a staple for me and I rarely go a couple of days without having it. Having a solid breakfast routine allows me to stay vital and vibrant throughout the day, regardless of what is thrown at me.
Let me know how you get on with this one!
